Barbara Bain had no difficult finding work as a high-fashion model, but she also had the skill to dance for modern dance maven Martha Graham. She took acting classes on the side, and in 1959 she briefly played David Janssen's love interest on Richard Diamond, Private Detective. Bain danced professionally through the early 1960s, with occasional guest-acting jobs on shows like Perry Mason, Hawaiian Eye, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. She then starred as the sultry spy Cinnamon Carter on Mission: Impossible opposite her husband, Martin Landau, as fellow spy Rollin Hand.

She went to New York City where she was a dancer and high fashion model. Bain studied with Martha Graham, thus cementing her interest in dancing. After attending Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio, she changed careers to acting. ... Bain is best known for her role in the television series Mission Impossible in the role of "Cinnamon Carter" (1966 - 1969), a role she later reprised in one episode of Diagnosis: Murder.
