Benigno Simeón Cojuangco Aquino III (born February 8, 1960) popularly known as Noynoy, is a Philippine statesman.

On August 21, 1983, Benigno Aquino, leader of the Philippines democratic opposition, was assassinated as he left the airplane that had brought him back home after three years’ exile in the United States.

Benigno Aquino was no stranger to Philippine politics. He came from a family that had been involved with some of the country's political heavyweights. After she Became President, she abolished the national assembly and replaced the constitution with a new one that was adopted by popular vote in 1987. She had been married to Benigno Aquino, Who was assassinated in 1983.
