American classical pianist Jerome Lowenthal is a pianoprofessor at The Juilliard School where he was also chair of the piano department. At age 13 he made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He studied with William Kapell, Edward Steuermann, and with Alfred Cortot at The école Normale de Musique de Paris on a Fulbright. Lowenthal won prizes in the international competitions of Brussels, Bolzano and Darmstadt. He has performed with the world’s most impressive conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Seiji Ozawa, Michael Tilson Thomas, Yuri Temirkanov, Leonard Slatkin, Leonard Bernstein, Eugene Ormandy, Pierre Monteux, and Leopold Stokowski. Lowenthal’s program will include Schubert’s Four Impromptus, op. 90 and Poulenc’s Aubade (solo arrangement by the composer).
