John Quincy Adams was born on May 22 1883 in Douglas Co, Missouri.

John Quincy Adams was born on July 11, 1767, in the village of Braintree (now Quincy), Massachusetts, located a few miles from Boston.

Education

John Quincy Adams and the grandson of Pres. John Adams, Charles. 1825 - He graduated from Harvard.

His birthplace is now part of Adams National Historical Park. His father, a farmer, also named John (1690-1761), was a fourth-generation descendant of Henry Adams, who immigrated from Barton St. David, Somerset, England, to Massachusetts Bay Colony in about 1636. His mother was Susanna Boylston Adams. Young Adams graduated from Harvard College in 1755 and, for a time, taught school in Worcester and studied law in the office of James Putnam.

Fame

In 1976, Daniels portrayed eldest son John Quincy Adams in the acclaimed PBS miniseries The Adams Chronicles (George Grizzard played John Adams).

John Quincy Adams was well known for his diplomatic success and most of all for his role as secretary of state under James Monroe.

Work

John Quincy Adams are the only presidents to have fathers (George H. W. Bush and John Adams respectively) who were presidents themselves.

John Quincy Adams was the sixth president of the United States, serving from 1825 to 1829.   In a long and remarkable career, Adams became as famous for his diplomacy as his statesmanship. First posted as minister to Holland by George Washington in 1793, Adams was then sent to London to help negotiate a treaty intended to clear up the remaining differences between America and Britain following the War of Independence.

John Quincy Adams was elected instead and coincidentally, on March 7, 1825, Poinsett resigned from Congress to accept as appointment as the first American Ambassador to Mexico.
