Samuel Hopkins Adams' ten-part exposé of the patent medicine industry, "The Great American Fraud," begins in Collier's.

Samuel Hopkins Adams was commissioned by Norman Hapgood of Collier's magazine to write a series of articles exposing the patent medicine business in 1906. ;  A consequence of the articles may very well have been the shutting down of Dr. Stace. 

Samuel Hopkins Adams (1871-1958), American muckraker and author best known for his investigative journalism wrote The Great American Fraud (1906).
